New Location For Benson Talk At Nmu

MARQUETTE, Mich.-Jocelyn Benson, dean of Wayne State University Law School, will present “What the Campaign Ads Don’t Tell Us” at Northern Michigan University. She will address the need for transparency in election ads and share other thoughts on election laws. Her talk will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. It is free and open to the public.

In addition to her role as law school dean, Benson is founder and director of the Michigan Center for Election Law. She also serves as president of the Military Spouses of Michigan. She is a Harvard Law School graduate and holds a master’s degree in philosophy from Oxford University in the United Kingdom and a bachelor’s from Wellesley College.

Benson’s presentation is part of the President’s Critical Issues Conversation Series at NMU. The next event in the series will be Michigan Lt. Gov. Brian Calley on Friday, Nov. 1.
