Free Program for People Living with Diabetes beginning May 5th.
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN – UPCAP will be offering a Diabetes Self-Management workshop at the Chocolay Township Hall beginning Monday, May 5th. The Diabetes – PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) workshop is a six week workshop designed to provide the skills and tools needed by people living with Type 2 Diabetes to improve their health and manage their symptoms. As a result, participants are better equipped to face the daily challenge of living with diabetes. The program is conducted by trained individuals (one or both also live with diabetes). Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.
The six week class will meet on Monday afternoons at the Chocolay Township Hall in Harvey, from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. and will run May 5th-June9th.
