MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Afternoon Classic Films presents a screening of “Anchors Aweigh” starring Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Kathryn Grayson on Monday, May 5 at 1:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.

“Anchors Aweigh” is a musical comedy of two sailors on leave in Hollywood. Brash Joseph Brady has promised his shy pal Clarence Doolittle that he will introduce Clarence to all the glamorous movie starlets whom he allegedly knows so well. The film features Gene Kelly dancing with such partners as a cartoon mouse.

Released in 1945, this five time Oscar nominated film is shown in color and runs for 117 minutes.
