The Eagle Mine is now operating and ramping up to full production by Q2 2015.
Ore from the Eagle Mine is processed into separate nickel and copper concentrates at the Humboldt Mill and loaded into covered railcars.
In order to ship the concentrates Eagle invested roughly $7 million to reestablish rail in Humboldt Township. Approximately four miles of track and associated rail crossings are now active.
Trains and switching cars are leaving the Mill on a regular basis. Rail crossings occur on CR 601, M 95, US 41, and several rural roads between Humboldt and Ishpeming. The train blows its whistle while crossing any road – remember that trains have the right-of-way.
