Negaunee, MI – Negaunee Basketball, Inc., reminds participants that the deadline for the 2012 N.I.T., is Friday, March 9 2012. No late entries will be accepted.
The tournament, in its 48th year, is the largest independent one of its kind in the Midwest, and runs from March 23 through April 22, 2012.
More than 100 teams are expected at the nine-class event. Last year 100-plus teams competed in Classes A, B, C, DD, D, EE, E, 45 & Older and the women’s division, which is in the second year of its return after a 15-year absence.
Class A will be played on April 20, 21 and 22. Class B will be held on April 13, 14 and 15. The women’s division is set for March 30, 31 and April 1, Class C will also be held on the same weekend. 45 & Older will be held April 13 through 15.
Players can only play on one team in one division except 45 & Older players. The entry fee is $100 per team and invitations and rosters can be downloaded at www.negauneeinvitational.com.

All proceeds from the tournament are donated back into the community. Last year more than $5,000 was donated to various organizations.
