Marquette Michigan Sister Cities Public Reception July 29th

Marquette, Michigan – The City of Marquette’s Sister Cities Program will hold a public reception on Tuesday, July 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Huron Mountain Gallery space of the Peter White Public Library, located on 217 N. Front Street in Marquette. Community members are invited to welcome the nine delegates from Japan. Guests include the Mayor of Higashiomi, the Chairman of the City Assembly and the Director of the City Planning Department.

Since 1979 the Sister City Program has been welcoming delegates into our community providing an enriching cultural exchange. The Sister Cities program focuses on cultural understanding, international friendship and the sharing of ideas. This is the 35th year Sister Cities has hosted a reception welcoming the delegates. Refreshments will be provided.
