Marquette – The Marquette County Conservation District in partnership with Marquette Township, MSU Extension and county of Marquette will be hosting a “Firewise” workshop on Tuesday February 25 at 6 p.m. at the Marquette Township Fire Station, 2801 Venture Drive, off Commerce Drive behind the Westwood Mall, Marquette.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide information about The Michigan Firewise Communities Project that helps homeowners and community leaders learn to protect homes and other structures from wildfire damage. Also, learn about Marquette County’s wildfire protection plan and how local government, large-landowners, and homeowners alike can work together to mitigate wildfire hazards in the region.
This free and information workshop is open to home and land owners, townships, municipalities, builders, contractors, engineers and developers.
