Afternoon Classic Film: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance January 6th

Afternoon Classic Films presents a screening of “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” on Monday, January 6 at 1:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.

Starring James Stewart, John Wayne, Vera Miles and Lee Marvin, the film is the story of a senator, who became famous for killing a notorious outlaw, returns for the funeral of an old friend and tells the truth about his deed.

This American western is included in the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry and was nominated for an Oscar for director John Ford.

Released in 1962, the movie will be shown in its original black and white runs for 123 minutes.
