Ishpemng – The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce will splash into the New Year with the Arctic Blast Color Dash 5K and Kids’ 1K, a snowshoe color run on Saturday, January 18 in the Country Village in Ishpeming.
Participants will weave their way through the Ishpeming Hills trails, running through color storms along the way.
The kids’ 1K starts at 10 a.m., and the 5K begins at 11 a.m. with separate prize drawings at the end of each race. Snowshoes will be available free of charge from Wilderness Sports for those who indicate a need for the equipment on the registration form. If participants cannot acquire snowshoes, they are still welcome to attempt the race in winter or hiking boots.
Registration is open for both races. The registration fees for the 5K are $35 through January 4 and $40 on race day. Registration for the 1K is $20.
Registration closes the day before the race at 5 p.m. All participants will receive a
white long sleeve t-shirt with packet pick-up available January 3 and 4 at the Greater Ishpeming/Negaunee Chamber of Commerce from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on race day from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
