Negaunee – Heikki Lunta Winterfest will be held on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17 in Negaunee, featuring the annual fishing derby, fireworks, Blooper Ball competition and much more.
The annual fishing derby will be on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Teal Lake. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at various locations or the day of the event at Paisano’s Pizza, the registration point.
Bonfires on the shore of Teal Lake will proceed the fireworks, which will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday over the lake.
The Eagles Breakfast Buffet will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 17 at the Negaunee Clubhouse. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children age 12 and younger. Call 475-9584 for details.
Keski-Talven Juhlat (Mid-Winter Festivities) will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 17 at Olde Towne Negaunee and the Negaunee Senior Center. A concession stand will be available inside the Negaunee Senior Center, there will be a craft show and live music will be provided by local musicians.
In addition, a snowshoe/ski geocaching event will be held in the Old Towne area. Sledding and snow fort building will also take place in Old Towne Festival Park, across the street from the Senior Center.
Blooper ball will take place across the street in Old Towne Festival Park.
