Marquette – There will be an “Island Cruise” longboarding event on Thursday, August 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Presque Isle Park in Marquette.
During the event Peter White Drive will be closed to motor vehicles along that portion that is one way. Pedestrians and bicyclists will have limited access to the entire island but are asked to follow the instructions of the race coordinators and volunteers.
Public parking will be available. However, a race is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. when vehicles attempting to exit the parking lots by the breakwater, band shell and pavilion will have limited ability to exit. Those in vehicles are asked to consult race coordinators and volunteers.
