Creche Collection Display at PWPL December 1-24

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN –– Over 100 holiday crèches from around the world are on display at the Peter White Pubic Library from December 1 through January 24 in the library’s main floor and upper level display cases, during regular library hours.

The figurines depicting the Nativity story are part of the extensive collection of Fred and Carol Margrif that have been gathered for over 20 years on their travels across the globe and through gifts from friends and relatives. Handmade crèches from countries in North and South America, Africa and Europe reflect the native arts and craftsmanship of that region.

Carol Margrif will be presenting a talk on the collection on Thursday, December 5 at 7:00pm in the library’s community room. The program is open to the public at no admission charge and is sponsored by the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning.
