Seul Choix Pointe Boating Access Site in Schoolcraft County Temporarily Closed June 18

The Seul Choix Pointe boating access site on Lake Michigan in Schoolcraft County will temporarily close on Monday, June 18 for an improvement project, the Department of Natural Resources announced today.

Site improvements will include dredging, installation of a new concrete boat ramp, and reconfiguration of the parking area. It is anticipated that the project will be completed and the site reopened by Friday, June 29. Alternative access sites are the Manistique Municipal Ramp and Naubinway Harbor.

Funding for this project is through the Michigan State Waterways fund, a restricted fund derived from boat registration fees and the Michigan marine fuel tax, which is used for the construction, operation and maintenance of recreational boating facilities, harbors and inland waterways.

For more information or updates about the improvement project and temporary closure, contact DNR Parks and Recreation Division Unit Supervisor Dan Dowdy at 906-353-6558.
