Marquette – A children’s choir is being formed to sing with the Marquette Symphony Orchestra and the Marquette Senior High School Redmen Chorale in the December 14 premiere performance of a “A Child’s Requiem” composed by Marquette native Thomas LaVoy.
Girls and boys from age 9 to 14 with treble, unchanged voices may audition on Friday, September 13 at 4:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church on North Front Street in Marquette. Singers should prepare a short song, and be able to demonstrate vocal range and tonal memory. An accompanist will be provided.
The children’s choir will be co-directed by Esther Barrington and Jan Brodersen. Rehearsals will be every Friday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. until the concert, starting September 20. For more information, call 228-2661
