Marquette – The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center is proud to announce the second annual Halloween Spectacle to be held on Saturday, October 26. The City of Marquette and the Downtown Development Authority will be host to a large-scale community outdoor performance of giant puppetry, percussion, and theatrical dance. The community is invited to create, build and perform in this years Spectacle. Take part in the free workshops happening at the art center leading up to the main event.
Chinese Dragon Puppet workshops will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 3 through 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, September 7 and 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library.
Deb White will lead life-size dragon project. Needed are community members with skills in sculpting, painting, sewing and carpentry.
