(Ishpeming, Michigan) – Shortly after the opening of a fourth operating room, Bell Hospital has received recognition from Consumer Reports for being a top surgery provider in the state. Data published by Consumer Reports states that Bell Hospital is one of seven healthcare facilities in Michigan to receive its highest marks. Using data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), state Department of Health, and the American Hospital Association (AHA), a five-level ranking system was developed to review complications in surgeries or longer-than-expected hospital stays following common surgeries. Other high-ranking hospitals included Beaumont Hospital in Troy, St. Joseph Livingston in Howell, and Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, MI. “Our surgical volumes have been increasing, due in large part to the talented and caring providers and staff serving our patients,” stated Floyd Bounds, CEO of Bell Hospital.
Bell Hospital offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services that include general surgery, along with orthopedic, gynecological, ophthalmologic, urologic, plastic and oral surgical services. Bell’s Breast Center has been named a Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology and recently received a national accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. With exceptional quality and safety including record low infection rates and patient satisfaction scores that are among the best in the nation, Bell Hospital is pleased to be recognized by Consumer Reports as a top provider of surgical services in Michigan.
