Marquette Lions Club Annual Pancake Breakfast Supports Warrior Relief Fund

This year, like many years before, the Marquette Lions Club will be hosting its annual pancake breakfast. The funds raised from the pancake breakfast are donated to a local charity/ service organization. Like the years before, we have looked outward into our small Marquette community in search of a charity or cause worthy and in need of support. This year we have decided to support the Warrior Relief Fund.

The Warrior Relief Fund (WRF) was started a few years ago as a
charitable organization by local veterans. The purpose of WRF was (and still is) to support active duty military, local veterans and their families with aid in a time of need. There are many government
programs available for military and veteran families, however, these
services tend to be slow and take effect after the initial need for
support has lapsed. Additionally, the organization serves as a rally
point for the community and has hosted a few events during its short
existence. Their two major events sponsored by the WRF are the Memorial Day 5K walk and Golf Outing. The WRF has also focused on
service projects by building a few access ramps for disabled veterans
in the community.
