National Weather Service Marquette Open House Saturday, August 23, 2014

The Marquette National Weather Service Office in Negaunee Township will host an Open House on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 10:00 am EDT until 2:00 pm EDT.

This complimentary event is open to all members of the community. It will be a great opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at weather forecasting in Upper Michigan. Attendees will be able to tour the office, gain a better understanding of what we do and our services, and learn about the Weather Ready Nation initiative. There will be weather displays and kid’s activities. In addition, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center Portable Atmospheric Research Center (SPARC) will be on display highlighting ongoing collaborative research and launching weather balloons.

No RSVP is required, and the event will take place rain or shine. Our office is located just off US-41 near the old Marquette County airport in Negaunee Township.

More information about the Open House can be found by going to our website (weather.gov/mqt), following our Facebook (facebook.com/NWSMarquette) or Twitter (@NWSMarquette) social media channels, or calling us at 906.475.5212.
