Michigan Operations Provides Support to High School Robotics Teams

When: Thursday, January 24, 2013

Time: 4:00pm – Robotic Presentations
4:30pm – Check Presentations

What: Cliffs Michigan Operations will be providing financial support to the high school robotics teams from Ishpeming, Westwood, Negaunee and Marquette. The event will begin with robot demonstrations from all four teams. A check presentation from Cliffs Natural Resources will follow with each team receiving a $500 donation.

The robotics program teaches students how to design, build and program a robot. Students also gain business skills including public speaking, business writing and budgeting. The program challenges students to work under strict guidelines, time restraints and limited resources and helps prepare them for high-tech, high-demand jobs in the future.

Place: Westwood High School
