NMU Commencement Advisory for May 3rd

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Northern Michigan University’s spring commencement ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, in the Superior Dome.

Of the 1,023 students eligible to graduate, nearly 880 are registered to walk in the ceremony–the largest number of commencement participants in NMU history.

Media who would like to request special access beyond the blue curtain for photos/videos are asked to contact Sara Niemi in advance at 227-2257. Otherwise NMU kindly requests that media do not go beyond the blue curtain around the stage and graduate seating area to obtain photographs, video or interviews. Thank you for your cooperation.

Here are some pre-commencement activities happening on Friday, May 2:

School of Nursing Pinning/Hooding Ceremony, 4:30 p.m. in Jamrich 102.

Educator Recognition Ceremony, 5 p.m. in the University Center Great Lakes Rooms.

Master of Fine Arts Celebration/Readings, 7 p.m. at the Women’s Federated Clubhouse.
