MDOT will close M-94 between Chippewa Avenue and Fifth Street in the city of Manistique this afternoon to determine the source of and repair a suspected water system leak that is affecting a business between First and Second streets. A contractor is en route to Manistique, and the highway will be closed at some time this afternoon once crews arrive. The duration of the closure is not yet known, but will depend on further investigation of the leak’s source and the extent of repairs. During the closure, traffic will be detoured on city streets as during this year’s construction project.
