Marquette – Randy Park will present a program about his life story, as recounted in the book “Full Circle” by Gordon Galloway, on tuesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Park grew up in Big Rapids, Michigan where his family owned and operated a sawmill. The family business came first until he convinced his father to let him play football. A distinguished player at the high school level, Randy also played for Ferris State University and the Michigan Charity Football League. At the age of 21 he was injured in a motorcycle accident that resulted in the loss of his right leg below the knee.
Life presents many obstacles and Randy has experienced them all. During his program he will frankly discuss the medical and psychological problems associated with living life as an amputee. He encourages other amputees to live their lives to the fullest and has a special interest in improving assistive technology.
The book Full Circle will also be available for purchase and signing. There is no admission charge. For more information call the Peter White Public Library at 226-4318 or visit www.pwpl.info.
