Marquette – DocuMonday will present a screening of ”Radioactive Wolves” on Monday, September 10 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident created a dead zone around the reactor, an area of nearly 1,200 square miles too contaminated to be safely inhabited by humans. In the 25 years since, the dead zone has become a surprising post-nuclear Eden, populated by beaver, bison, horses, birds, fish, and ruled by wolves.
Released in 2011, the documentary is being shown in conjunction with the traveling exhibit Wolves and Wild Lands in the 21st Century on display at the library through September. There is no admission charge to the film or the exhibit. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
