Northern Michigan University – Dallas Seavey, the 2012 Iditarod winner, will be in Marquette, Michigan on May 7th to share his experiences at the Michigan Room of the University Center on the campus of Northen Michigan University’s Campus.
Dallas Seavey won 2012’s Iditarod, beating his father and grandfather in the process He also became the youngest champion of the famed race. The grueling event began in Willow, Alaska on March 4th, Seavey’s 25th birthday. Nine days, four hours and 29 minutes later, he crossed the finish line in Nome as the youngest musher to win the race.
The Seavey family is actually 3 generations deep in the mushing tradition, with Grandfather Dan Seavey being one of the three founding fathers of the Iditarod. Father Mitch Seavey won the Iditarod in2004.
