Children’s author Marissa Moss will present on Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 pm
in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.
Moss has written five popular series of children’s books which include
Amelia’s Notebook, Daphne’s Diaries, Max Disaster Mysteries, and historic
journals from early American history and from ancient times. The books
are all written as first person narrative and include original artwork by
Moss. She’s not only an entertaining author, but a dynamic doodler as
well.
Moss specializes in the genre of historical fiction with picture books
that feature notable females from history. Some of the titles are “Nurse,
Soldier, Spy: The Story of Sarah Edmonds, A Civil Was Hero;” “Mighty
Jackie: The Strike-Out Queen;” and “Brave Harriet: The First Woman to Fly
the English Channel.”
Marissa Moss will be the featured author for the Young Authors Conference
held from May 7-10 for students in Marquette and Alger counties. The
author presentation will be aimed at Grades K-6 students and their
families, followed by book sales and signing. Literary activities and
crafts will also take place after the presentation. There is no admission
charge to attend the event.
