MARQUETTE – A skill development skate will be held at the Berry Events Center at Northern Michigan University in Marquette going twice a week from June 12th – August 17th for hockey players 20 and under. The skate will provide players the chance to work on their individual skills by using high level drills and techniques that are used at the Junior, College, and Pro levels.
The sessions will be held Sunday’s from 9-10:30pm and Thursday’s from 4:30-6pm. More info on off-ice workouts sessions will be available soon.
These sessions will be conducted by Marquette natives Andy Contois, Brad Sullivan, and Ryan Sullivan. All three are former Marquette Electrician hockey players that bring a combine wealth of experience to the ice. Andy Contois; played two seasons with the Electricians before moving on to play two years of juniors splitting time with the Springfield (MO) Jr. Blues (NAHL) and the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL). Contois then went on to play four years at NMU. He is currently in his 9th season of professional hockey, the last 6 being played in Europe. Brad Sullivan; played three season with the Electricians before moving on to play two years with the Danville (IL) Wings (NAHL) where he served as the team’s captain. From there Sullivan went on to play four years at Michigan Tech and a year of professional hockey. He currently serves as the President of the Marquette Electricians Hockey Club. Ryan Sullivan; played two seasons with the Electricians before splitting his time between the Springfield (MO) Spirit and the Helena (MT) Bighorns of the (NAHL). From there, Sullivan went on to play three years at Finlandia University, being named the team’s MVP his final year. He currently serves as a Board Member for the Marquette Electricians Hockey Club.
Cost is $350 per player.
