MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – In celebration of May as Mental Health month, the Peter White Public Library presents a noontime Lunch & Learn drop-in informational session on Chinese medicine and acupuncture on Thursday, May 1 at 12:00pm in the library’s Community Room.
Acupuncture has been used as a treatment for emotional and psychological conditions and can have positive effects on depression and anxiety. Most patients having acupuncture treatment for any condition notice how relaxing, calming and centering it can be. For patients with emotional or psychological difficulties, this effect can be profoundly helpful.
Presenter Alicia Smith Dambeck LAc CH, is a board certified licensed acupuncturist in practice with Dr. Katy Nelson, ND. Smith earned her Bachelors degree in Natural Health Sciences and a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from the prestigious natural medical school, Bastyr University. She has studied traditional Chinese medicine, Five Element acupuncture, Japanese style acupuncture and is also a certified Hypnotherapist.
There is no admission charge and no pre-registration is required. Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch.
This presentation is part of Your Mind Matters, a community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of community groups and the Peter White Public Library.
