MARQUETTE, MI – Northern Michigan University’s music department will present a jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free.
The performance will feature the following groups: the NMU Jazz Band; NMU’s vocal jazz ensemble, The Wildscats; and the Michigan Technological University Jazz Lab Band. This is the 10th year that NMU and MTU are presenting a joint jazz concert.
The program will include jazz classics by Count Basie and Harry Warren and contemporary works by Jukka Linkola, Bob Brookmeyer and English rock band Radiohead. Student soloists are Sara Parks on vocals and Aaron Enszer on flugelhorn. Both are from Marquette.
