MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI– UPCross, the Upper Peninsula’s cyclocross club, in conjunction with Range Area Mountain Bike Association (RAMBA) and Border Grill is pleased to announce a cyclocross double header on the weekend of October 14 and 15, 2017. These races are the third and fourth races of ten races in the 2017 UPCross fall cyclocross series. All proceeds from the weekend’s cyclocross events will benefit RAMBA.
Saturday, October 14’s event, Old Town ‘Cross, will take place at Jackson Park in Negaunee, MI from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 15’s Event, Taco ‘Cross at Al Quaal, will take place at Al Quaal in Ishpeming, MI, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Taco ‘Cross is sponsored by Border Grill. “We are excited to continue to partner with RAMBA to put on such great cyclocross events. RAMBA always manages to find a new and exciting way to create a really challenging course,” says UPCross president, Stacey Kangas. “Taco ‘Cross on Sunday at Al Quaal should be really exciting and tasty, too.”
UPCross cycling races are open to the public of all ages and abilities. Races are only $10, and free for children 15 and under. Races last anywhere from 30 minutes to 50 minutes, depending upon ability level. Racers can utilized any type of bicycle, but cyclocross specific bicycles are required for season-end points for advanced “A Races”.
