Marquette – The DocuMonday Film Series will present a screening of “Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport” on Monday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This film chronicles one of the lesser-known stories of the Holocaust: that of the kindertransport, which saved the lives of 10,000 Jewish children. In the late 1930s England agreed to accept these children seeking refuge from Nazi Oppression. They were placed in foster homes and hostels.
Winner of the Best Documentary Feature Academy Award , “Into the Arms of Strangers” was released in 2000, is rated PG and runs for 122 minutes.
