Lakeview Arena hasn't been that full since Gene Simmons blew fire and spit blood, Ace Frehley's guitar smoked, Paul Stanley danced around in high heeled boots and Peter Criss played a drum solo when the rock band KISS played there back in the 80's. Thousands of grandparents, parents, siblings, friends, teachers, administrators, board members, students and graduates packed the arena for the Marquette Senior High School 2008 graduation ceremony. The ceremony lasted about an hour with everything going as planned. No pranks or outrageous stunts were performed by any graduates as speeches were recited without errors, music was played in tune and graduates accepted their diplomas with dignity. An occasional outburst could be heard, a few tears were wiped and an air horn blared once but that was about the extent of the excitement at this years ceremony. Even the weather was perfect.
