Miss Midway taught dance lessons while street hockey, badminton, basketball, volleyball and a Texas Hold-em tournament were being played, carnival type games awarded tickets for prizes, inflatable attractions coerced teenagers to do battle amongst one another, temporary tattoos were applied, massages were given, nails were painted, video games were played, movies watched, free food and beverages were served and the Marquette Senior High School seniors of 2008 enjoyed one another's company under one roof for the last time as they head off to start a new journey in their young lives.
One thing was apparent, many dedicated parents and volunteers pulled off another successful event despite rising costs, shrinking budgets and a shortfall of donations. Kiwanis member, Dan Boyle, stated that he was a little worried about the food and beverages making it through the event. “The donations were cut back this year and some of the people that were committed to the event just couldn't give us what they did in the past”. Despite his worries, the event was highly successful with hundreds of door prizes being awarded to the seniors.
Congratulations to all of the seniors and to all who participated in making this event successful! More – External Link
