30th Anniversary of Marquette New Year’s Eve Ball Drop

Marquette, MIDecember 26, 2018 – Gather with family and friends to ring in 2019 at the annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in Downtown Marquette on Monday, December 31. Share in this true Marquette tradition and join in the countdown to midnight with a ball drop atop the Masonic Square Mall at 128-130 West Washington Street. Double Trouble Entertainment has once again stepped up to continue this tradition. Special thanks to the Masonic Association for the generous use of their building.

Event participants are reminded that the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop is a family-friendly
event. While the 100 block of West Washington Street will be closed to traffic,
the public is reminded that the consumption of alcohol is not allowed in the public right
of way. Bar and restaurant patrons are asked to consume any beverages inside of
respective establishments before venturing out onto the streets.

The Marquette City Commission has generously waived the street closure and
police protection fees to help bring this popular event to the community. The event is
sponsored by the City of Marquette and the Marquette Downtown Development
Authority.

Share in the magic of the twelfth strike marking the beginning of 2019 at this family
friendly community celebration. This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the
Downtown Marquette New Year’s Eve Ball Drop! Don’t miss it!
