Marquette – Brandeis University Professor Isaac Krauss will present two distinct lectures on designing carbohydrate HIV vaccines at Northern Michigan University. The lectures are free and open to the public.
The first lecture, titled “Designing Carbohydrate HIV Vaccines Using Molecular Evolution,” will be offered on Thursday, March 22 at 8 p.m. in 2904 West Science at NMU.
“Combining Organic Synthesis and Directed Evolution to Design Carbohydrate HIV Vaccines” will be offered on Friday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. in 2906 West Science. Following his Friday lecture, Krauss will provide students with information on graduate school programs.
The events are presented as a part of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society Distinguished Lecture Series. Krauss joined the faculty at Brandeis University in 2008 and initiated research programs in synthetic organic chemistry and the use of directed evolution as a tool to design carbohydrate vaccines.
