Marquette – The presentation “A Way of Life: Native American and Fur Trade Artisans” will be offered on Tuesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center.
Jan Zender and Rochell Dale create museum quality reproductions of 18th century Native American and fur trade objects, many of which were featured in the film Dances With Wolves. Learn about the process involved in creating these stunning reproductions, whether gathering whitefish eggs to paint a Great Lakes pipe bag or birch to build a canoe. View images of the family at work on their off-the-grid homestead along the Yellow Dog River and catch a glimpse of the past at work.
A $10 donation is being asked for the presentation.
