8-18 Media, the youth journalism bureau at the Upper Peninsula Childrens Museum in Marquette, will have a new-member training session on Saturday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for participants ages 8 to 13, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 14 to 18. 8-18 Media is a free youth journalism, empowerment and leadership program. The members work in teams to produce stories on youth-related issues for Marquette Monthly and radio stations Q-107 WMQT and WNMU Public Radio 90. Members choose and research topics, conduct interviews and write the stories. Preregistration for the training is required.
