Upper Peninsula Solid Waste Forum May 2nd

Marquette, Michigan – Registration is now open for the annual Upper Peninsula Solid Waste Forum (Forum), taking place in Marquette, Michigan. The Forum will focus on information about the latest issues involving solid waste management and recycling, and especially targeting issues of interest in the Upper Peninsula, with the goal of establishing best management practices, waste reuse and economic development.

Presentation topics include groundwater sampling best practices, asbestos disposal requirement at Type II landfills, MIOSHA health concerns at landfills, UP electronic recycling connection, passive and active landfill gas system design, Part 115 updates, leachate management at landfills, DEQ recycling updates, and Marquette County recycling update and DEQ scrap tire experience.

Who should attend?

This Forum is intended for both commercial and industrial landfill operators, composters, recyclers, end users of waste byproducts, and anyone else who is interested in solid waste management and recycling in the UP.

REGISTRATION COST: $50 – includes continental breakfast and lunch on May 2
