Beaumier Center Hosts Finnish Music 101 March 16th

Marquette, Michigan – Northern Michigan University’s Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center will celebrate St. Urho’s Day by presenting “Finnish Music 101” as part of its concert series. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 16, in the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre. It commemorates the centennial of Finland by featuring two to three songs from each decade since 1917.

The music will be performed by a group of musicians from the Copper Country, including Pasi Lautula of PasiCats, Oren Tikkanen of Thimbleberry Band and Bob Hiltunen of Steve Jones and the Garden City Hot Club. The event includes a multimedia presentation connected with each song and several musical guests.

Tickets will be available at the door. The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for students.
