Third Thursday Speaker Series Oct. 18

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Negaunee will resume its Third Thursday speaker series at 7 p.m. on October 18 in the church guild hall. Refreshments will be served. Local historian Leo LaFond will present “The 1836 Miners Strike and the Missing Corpse.” Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Funds raised will be matched and used for local charity work. St. John’s is at the corner of Teal Lake Avenue and Main Street. For more information, call 225-1078.
