The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club will meet on Sunday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cliff Shaft Mine Museum, 501 W. Euclid Street in Ishpeming. Gary Richards from Green Bay will present a program on the Montreal Iron Mine, the world's deepest iron mine, closed in 1963. Utilizing a slide presentation, he will provide a historical overview of the mine, with pictures of the miners and the mine. He will also show different minerals that came from the mine and compare them to the Marquette Iron Range. A silent auction of mineral specimens and a business meeting will follow the presentation.
