Calendar – Films/Documentaries – “Red Dawn” Film Screening – Mar. 27

Marquette – In conjunction with the Beaumier Center’s “Cold War in the U.P.” exhibition, a screening of “Red Dawn” will be offered on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University.

Soviet, Nicaraguan and Cuban troops land on the football field of a Colorado high school from a rocket. As the troops attack the school, a group of teenagers runs into the mountains. Armed with only hunting rifles, pistols and bows and arrows, the group members find themselves in warfare against the Soviet K.G.B.

A discussion with center director Daniel Truckey will follow the film. The film showing is free and open to the public. Popcorn will be available for purchase.
