Dr. Richard Rovin, a neurosurgeon at Marquette General Hospital, will present “Targeting Chemotherapy Resistance in Malignant Glioma” from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 11 at Mead Auditorium in the West Science building at NMU. Malignant glioma is a cancerous tumor which produces an enzyme that counteracts chemotherapy. Rovin will discuss work conducted in NMU’s chemistry laboratory that attempts to turn this enzyme off.He was instrumental in creating the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center in 2005 and has been chief of surgery and chief of staff at MGH. His presentation is part of the clinical laboratory sciences seminar series at NMU
