The new Art of the Guitar exhibit featuring handcrafted instruments is on display through Sunday, October 14, at the DeVos Art Museum. The exhibit highlights stringed instruments made by luthiers across the country. Guitarist Steven Jones will give a talk at 4 p.m. Friday, September 14 about the history of guitars and the development of guitar-based music globally. He also will demonstrate selected guitars in the exhibit, and provide live music at a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 227-2235.
