The new Art of the Guitar exhibit featuring handcrafted instruments will be on display from Friday, September 7 through Sunday, October 14, at the DeVos Art Museum. The exhibit highlights stringed instruments made by luthiers across the country. Guitarist Steven Jones will give a talk at 4 p.m. Friday, September 14 about the history of guitars and the development of guitar-based music globally. He also will demonstrate selected guitars in the exhibit, and provide live music at a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served.Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
