Winter Heart is the story of Ben O’Brian, a retired English professor and poet who, having lost his beloved wife to cancer several years before the opening of the story, finds himself alone with his beloved labradors Tom and Huck in familiar territory on Hunter Lake, where his family has long resided and continues to reside.
