INCIDENT NUMBER: 171154

DATE OF INCIDENT: 4 August 2017

LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 525 N. Third St.
TIME OUT: 1909

INJURIES: None

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: MFD was dispatched to 525 N. Third St at 1909 HRS for the report of a structure fire. A second alarm was struck right away, and first arriving engine established a water supply and prepared for entry. The second arriving engine provided additional firefighters and Incident Command. Smoke was showing from the second level of the structure on the northwest side. A single one ¾ attack line was deployed with three firefighters making entry into the fire building. Reports that everyone had evacuated the structure could not be confirmed, and fire crew conducted a primary search, discovering the fire in the back corner apartment. The fire was located in the kitchen and was quickly extinguished with approximately 100 gallons of water and class A foam. The affected tenant had a dog that was found and was carried out of the structure in good health. Five additional firefighters responded on the second alarm. The tenant of the damaged apartment is lodged via Pigs-N-Heat Fund. The fire remains under investigation.
