Marquette – The Your Mind Matters and The Cost of Addiction Series will show the film “Pleasure Unwoven” on Wednesday, May 10 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In this video essay, Dr. Kevin McCauley, physician, addiction specialist, and recovering opioid addict, addresses the question of whether addiction is a really a disease. Considering his own treatment for opioid addiction and expert research on the effect opioids have on the brain, Dr. McCauley presents both sides of the issue, taking complex neuroscientific information and making it accessible to the general population. His goal is to help people in recovery as well as their friends and family. RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!
