Escanaba – Bay College Film Series will present “Manchester By the Sea” on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Besse Center at Bay College in Escanaba.
The film, released in 2016, is about Mia, an aspiring actress, who serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions and Sebastian, a jazz musician, who scrapes by playing cocktail party gigs in dingy bars. As success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.
The Film Series at Bay College shows the best in modern art film including independent, documentary, and foreign movies. Tickets are $5 and are available at the box office or can be purchased online. Students with valid ID can get a reduced admission charge of $2.
