Calendar – Films/Documentaries – “13th” Film Screening – Mar. 22

Marquette – Northern Michigan University has scheduled a semester-long series of presentations, film screenings, reading groups and creative responses to Claudia Rankine’s “Citizen: An American Lyric”, this year’s Diversity Common Reader Program selection. The book recounts mounting racial aggression in ongoing encounters in 21st century daily life and in the media.

The film “13th” will be shown on Wednesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. in Jamrich Hall 1100. The film takes an in-depth look at the prison system in the United States and how it reveals the nation’s history of racial inequity. The public is invited to attend.
