Negaunee – As part of the remembrance of the Barnes-Hecker Mining Disaster, the film “Barnes-Hecker: Memories of a Misfortune” will be shown continuously on Saturday, November 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum, 73 Forge Road in Negaunee.
Refreshments will be served and those who attend will have opportunities to visit with other families and see artifacts including the pocket watches of mine captain William Tippett and mine inspector William Hill, and the brass check of Rutherford (Wilfred) Wills, the only man to escape the flooding mine.
